At Frederick Nattrass Primary Academy we value the performing arts and it is an integral part of our curriculum.
Entitlement for all
Every child from nursery to Year 6 will be given the opportunity, and encouraged to perform in a musical theatre production at Christmas. Children from Foundation Stage and Year 1 experience music as part of their daily lessons.
All Year 6 children take part in a musical theatre performance at the end of the year. Every child from Reception to Year 6 visits the theatre in December to see a pantomime. By the time they leave our school, every child will have visited the theatre to see a production of a book they are studying.
Year 5 and Year 6 pupils have the opportunity to take part in a production of a Shakespeare play at a local theatre. In the Autumn of 2017, Year 5 are studying and performing A Midsummer's Nights Dream.
In October 2016, our Year 5 class performed 'Romeo and Juliet' on the stage at Middlesbrough Theatre as part of the Shakespeare Schools' Festival.
